Meet Mike + Ashley Monge, Realtors® at the Monge Group in southwest Florida

The beautiful “Sunshine State” is home to more than 22 million people. But on September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian blew in at 150 mph, destroying lives, homes, infrastructure and more. At least 148 Floridians died in the storm and the insured losses are estimated to be $12.6 billion.

A native of Florida, Mike has lived in the Fort Myers area his whole life and loves welcoming new home owners to the community. So when Ian hit, Mike and Ashley partnered with their local church, Ocean Church in Estero, Florida, Convoy of Hope and Serve Our City to clean up, rebuild and distribute aid and supplies. They also reached out to their network of real estate professionals nationwide who donated over $50,000 to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian.

Mike and Ashley Monge in the parking lot of Ocean Church in Estero, Florida to meet a moving van that was loaded with hurricane relief supplies donated by a realtor located in Washington, DC.

“We love where we live. We are passionate about the people and our community. God has blessed us, and it is important to give back to the community, especially after the devastation that has occurred from Hurricane Ian,” Mike explained. “This is a marathon, not a race and we are in it until the end. We are truly grateful and humbled by the love we have felt from across the country,” explained Ashley.

The Monges have been giving back to his community for years. They have been instrumental in providing scholarships for students to attend Mike’s alma mater, Evangelical Christian School (ECS) in Fort Myers, Florida. You see, Mike was raised by a single mother who worked full time and made sure her kids attended this school. To offset some of the cost, Mike worked at the school during the school year as well as in the summer. They plan to establish an endowed scholarship as a legacy to his mother and for students who value an ECS education but may not have the financial means to attend.
